John Travolta told his Instagram that his wife, who appeared in big movies such as Jerry Maguire and What a Girl Does, died on the morning of Sunday, 12 July. “I tell you with a really heavy heart my lovely Kelly wife had lost two years’ battle against breast cancer and she fought a courageous war with so many people’s love and support,” wrote the Grease Star. “My family and I, as well as her many friends and relatives who were by her side, will be deeply thankful to her physicians and nursing staff at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre.”
“Love and life of Kelly will always be cherished. I’ll take my time to be there for my children who lost their mum, so excuse me before long if you’re not hearing about us for some time now, but please know that in the weeks and months ahead I’ll feel the love of you in the process of healing.”
Preston ‘s reply explained to people in an additional statement that the family did not reveal that its fight against breast cancer was a desire to keep people privy. “She has for some time been treated with medical care, supported by her closest family and friends,” said the family representative. “She was a beautiful and brilliant, loving soul that took great care of others and gave life to all that it touched. Your family now asks you to understand their need for privacy.”
The 28th anniversary of their wedding was celebrated in September last by Travolta and Preston. The Grease actor then posted on Instagram “Happy anniversary at my marvelous wife @therealkellypreston.”
Preston wrote to her husband a very cordial note with the shared words of her: “To my most loving Johnny, the wonderful man I know. You gave me hope when I felt lost, you loved me patiently and unconditionally … you made me to laugh harder than any other human being … you shared the best and sometimes the lowest highs.
Her daughter Ella Travolta also talked about her mother’s death in a statement posted on Instagram. “I have never met someone as courageous, strong, beautiful, and caring as you. Everyone who is lucky enough to have known you or have been in your presence must acknowledge that you have a glow and a light that never fails to shine, and that makes everyone around you feel genuinely happy. Thank you, no matter what, for being there for me.
In the week before her death, Kelly posted several times on her personal Instagram and on father’s day she took the latest picture of her husband. In addition to a picture of John and her late son Jett Travolta, who died from a conviction at the age of 16, she shared a photo of her family.
Her husband and her two kids Ella and Benjamin survived the actress, 10.
